BRING IT ON
R2-D2, the loyal and resourceful droid from Star Wars, has been a pivotal character throughout the franchise, aiding multiple generations of Skywalkers and fighting for freedom alongside the Galactic Senate and Rebel Alliance. Brought to life by Kenny Baker, who portrayed Artoo in the first seven films, R2-D2 became a cultural icon. Baker, standing at 3'8", operated the droid's special costume in many scenes, blending human performance with robotics. His final appearance as Artoo was in The Force Awakens (2015) before his passing in 2016.
Beyond Star Wars, R2-D2 has made memorable appearances in pop culture, such as Sesame Street (falling in love with a fire hydrant), at the 2016 Oscars with fellow droids C-3PO and BB-8, and even at the White House for Star Wars Day (May 4, 2016), where he danced with Barack and Michelle Obama. George Lucas, Artoo's creator, has openly called him his favorite Star Wars character, ensuring the droid saves the day at least once in every film.
Artoo’s influence extends beyond Star Wars, appearing as Easter eggs in films like Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Raiders of the Lost Ark thanks to Lucas’s friendship with Steven Spielberg. He even sneaks into J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek (2009) and Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). With appearances in movies, TV series, and beyond, R2-D2 remains a beloved and enduring figure in pop culture history.**

Weight:
The choice is yours. If you're new, start with a lower weight, like 5 to 10 pounds.
New Ruckers:
Go with a lighter weight or no weight at all. Focus on your form instead of heavier weight. Try to complete the exercises with your ruck on, but remove it if there's any pain. If you're moving slower than 20 minutes per mile, reduce the weight you're carrying.
Experienced Ruckers:
Double either the number of exercises (to 64 each) or the number of miles rucked (to 6.4 miles).
